FREE Student Workshops

The A2 JAZZ FEST FREE Student Workshops offer an opportunity for young musicians with some knowledge of jazz to learn in a fun and encouraging environment. Each year, the A2 JAZZ FEST offers FREE jazz workshops to support the community of musicians in Michigan!

ALL Welcome!!

This year our workshops will take place in a dedicated space (The Loft, located above the Rabbit Hole), away from the main stage, to support richer engagement with the workshop content. Our featured instructors will be veteran musician-educators, Sean Dobbins (Indiana University, Jacobs School of Music) & Clif Metcalf (Macatawa Bay 7th/8th Concert Band, West Ottawa Music), both leading their own programs as band directors.

Participants may engage as part of a program or as individuals - no need to be affiliated with a school! Join us for an opportunity to play music alongside your musical peers.

Each session will culminate in a youth jam session. ALL levels are welcome. Preferred age is middle school to high school.
